City break holidays are a good way of having any short, but very refreshing adventure. Overseas adventure travel does not always mean venturing out to the wilds or doing something very bold. City breaks can be fascinating adventure holidays too.
Everything depends upon the city, and certain cities are noticeably more thrilling than others. This article intends to provide you with a few ideas that will make you want to hop on the next airplane out of town. Because these are all small group tours they’re perfect adventure holidays for singles. With ready-made friends from the word go there isn’t any time wasting.
What about four nights in Istanbul? It is the largest city in Turkey and meeting place of Asia and Europe. It’s the former capital of the Roman and the Ottoman Empires and so packed with history. It’s an Asian city on the edge of Europe or a European city on the edge of Asia. In either case is part of both worlds which makes it quite distinctive.
On this break you will go to the former sultan’s palace of Topkapi as well as take a boat trip on the Bosphorous. You will see the famous spice bazaar and wonder at the Blue Mosque. You’ll have an evening tour of the city plus a delicious dinner and traditional floor show. You’ll have free time for some other visits plus some shopping in the city’s lively markets. It’s an action packed five days and nights and you’ll go back home feeling you’ve had a real vacation somewhere extremely far from home.
For something quite different try a short cooking course in Marrakech in the heart of Morocco. You will arrive in the city on the first day and have time to yourself to lose your self in the narrow streets of the souk. Market day in Marrakech isn’t like anything you have ever seen before.
The following day you’ll get an Arabic lesson after which it’s on to the marketplace to try out what you have learned by doing your shopping for the cooking course. You will find out about spices and the ways to prepare some delicious couscous as well as tajines. The tajine is the special earthenware cooking pot used for slow cooking. You won’t want to come back home without one.
You will fly out at the conclusion of the third day with your head full of the sights and sounds of Marrakech, not to mention your stomach, and you’ll feel as if you have been away for weeks.
Multi city holidays: If you would like something a bit more modern then there is nowhere that can match New York and Las Vegas for fantastic city break holidays. If luxury city breaks are more your style then don’t do the normal thing and just fly there and back. Enjoy the 24-hour excitement of Vegas and New York then after a few amazing days return in style on the Queen Mary 2 and have a lovely relaxing cruise to set you up for getting back to work.
Sailing on the Queen Mary is an excellent experience. It is an enormous ship with all the comforts of a luxury hotel. You can relax, eat well enjoy the sea air and returen home thoroughly refreshed and rested. To keep your brain alert there are stimulating lectures, acting classes and good music on board.
City breaks can be surprisingly interesting and are worthy of any adventure traveller’s consideration.
